New Delhi, 05 March (H.S.): India and Finland have elevated their ties to a Strategic Partnership in Digitalization and Sustainability, committing to double bilateral trade by 2030 while deepening collaboration in telecommunications, data analytics, quantum computing, AI, circular economy, and sustainable urban solutions.

The pact emerged from bilateral talks Thursday at Hyderabad House between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Alexander Stubb, yielding 11 key agreements including startup cooperation, dedicated 6G and digitalization task forces, joint research in digital and environmental domains, statistics and ecology partnerships, and a new counsellor dialogue on mobility.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson hailed the outcome as a blueprint for shared progress and prosperity, spotlighting Finland's pledge to tap Indian skills and startups alongside a co-hosted World Circular Economy Forum in India this year. Both leaders reaffirmed commitments across trade-investment, clean energy, semiconductors, critical minerals, education-innovation, technology (AI, 6G, quantum), mobility, and people-to-people ties; they reiterated zero tolerance for all terrorism forms, exchanged views on regional-global issues, and vowed enhanced multilateral engagement.

PM Modi highlighted India's digital transformation, skilling, and trade facilitation drives, inviting deeper Finnish involvement, while leveraging the recent India-EU Free Trade Agreement to unlock export, job, and manufacturing gains.
