
Jammu, 05 March (H.S.): The Special Crime Wing (SCW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has apprehended a habitual fake job fraudster from Faridabad, Haryana, who had allegedly cheated several innocent youths from Srinagar by promising overseas job placements, particularly in Armenia.
According to officials, a special team of SCW tracked and arrested the accused, identified as Farhat Abbas Malik, son of Din Mohammad Malik, a resident of Tendla Chilipingal in Doda district. He had been evading arrest for several months in connection with FIR No. 02/2025 registered at Police Station SCW, Crime Branch Kashmir.
Police said the accused had allegedly lured unemployed youth with false promises of arranging jobs abroad and collected money from them before disappearing.
After being apprehended in Faridabad, the accused was produced before the competent court in Srinagar after obtaining transit remand from the Duty Magistrate Court in Faridabad.
Meanwhile, the Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has advised the general public, particularly job-seeking youth, to verify the authenticity of job placement agencies and consultancies before making any payments, in order to avoid falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
