Dhemaji (Assam), 05 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday resumed the Jan Ashirwad Yatra from Dhemaji district after a brief pause during the Holi festival. The yatra had been suspended on March 3 and 4 due to the celebrations and has now entered its fourth day.

Keeping the upcoming Assembly elections in mind, the Chief Minister is undertaking the statewide outreach programme to seek the blessings and support of the people. As per the scheduled itinerary, Dr. Sarma set out from Dhemaji towards Sisiborgaon and Jonai as part of the next leg of the yatra.

Large numbers of people gathered along the roads at various locations to catch a glimpse of the Chief Minister and express their support. As the convoy moved through different areas, enthusiastic crowds were seen lining the streets, warmly welcoming the Chief Minister.

The Jan Ashirwad Yatra, organised by the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aims to strengthen public connect across Assam and directly engage with citizens ahead of the elections.

During this phase of the yatra in Dhemaji district, a significant number of people have been participating in the programme. State BJP president and Member of Parliament Dilip Saikia, along with several other senior party leaders, is accompanying the Chief Minister during the journey.---------------
