The government calmed nerves on Monday assuring citizens and industry of uninterrupted petrol diesel LPG and PNG supplies despite the West Asia crisis with stockpiles deemed sufficient even as panic buying surfaced in spots.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma at an inter-ministerial briefing confirmed refineries humming at normal capacity crude stocks healthy and measures like export duties on diesel and ATF ensuring domestic availability.

Diplomatic Push and Allocation Boosts

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaging world leaders including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on March 28 to condemn attacks on energy infrastructure and safeguard shipping lanes.

Sharma detailed 100 percent supply for household PNG and CNG transport 80 percent for grid-tied industries no distributor LPG shortages with 95 percent bookings online last week seeing 260005 kg free trade LPG cylinders sold plus 41000 tonnes commercial.

Extra 48000 kiloliters kerosene went to states and union territories beyond quarterly quotas to steady energy markets.
