Kaushambi,

29 March (HS): A 60-year-old father was reportedly hacked to death with an axe

by two of his sons over a property dispute here, police said on Sunday. The

event occurred on Saturday night in Ajrauli village, as the victim, Nathan

Saroj, returned home from his fields.

Rajesh

Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kaushambi, stated that the suspects,

Jhurai and Lavlesh, attacked their father before attempting to bury the corpse

in a field, from where the police retrieved it. Saroj had two marriages,

authorities said. The alleged boys are from his first wife Kalutiya, and he

also had a son, Rahul, with his second wife Savitri. The conflict started

because Jhurai and Lavlesh did not want their father to give Rahul any portion

of the farm. However, Saroj recently gave him a one-third portion of his land,

which enraged the two brothers, the SP stated.

Rahul

filed a complaint following the incident, and a case was filed against the

accused as a result. The corpse has been submitted for a postmortem

examination. The accused are presently at large, and police teams have been

dispatched to locate them. Further legal processes are pending.
