29 March (HS): More than 30 individuals, including children and the elderly,
were sent to the hospital on Sunday after ingesting non-vegetarian foods during
a wedding celebration, according to officials. The event occurred on Saturday night
in Lalapur, Dewa, at the wedding of Mohammad Nazim, a Khijna village resident. According
to health officials, visitors began complaining of severe abdomen discomfort
and vomiting around 30 minutes after eating several non-vegetarian items
provided at the event. Dr Awadhesh Yadav, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), who
arrived at the scene to oversee the treatment, stated that an ambulance was
dispatched to the area after getting information from villagers.
Initially,
all afflicted individuals were admitted to Dewa's Community Health Centre
(CHC).
While many
individuals are receiving treatment at the CHC, six have been sent to the
District Hospital for further care. Treatment is being offered to all afflicted
people. Some have been released when their condition has settled. The health
authorities is doing a comprehensive investigation into the food poisoning to
determine the exact reason, Yadav stated. Officials gathered food samples for
examination.
