Hailakandi (Assam), 25 March (HS): A tense situation unfolded during a public meeting of Badruddin Ajmal in Binnakandi constituency, as local residents expressed anger over unresolved civic issues.

According to reports, the unrest was triggered by a street light in the area that has remained non-functional for a long time, causing inconvenience to the residents. Frustrated over the prolonged neglect, locals raised the issue during the meeting and demanded accountability.

Eyewitnesses said that the residents directly questioned Ajmal regarding the matter, leading to a heated exchange at the venue. The situation, however, was later brought under control.-----------
