Lucknow,

25 March (HS): As a novel initiative by the Yogi government to strengthen

elementary education, the Balvatika Navarambh Utsav was held with

great enthusiasm in schools with Balvatikas (co-located Anganwadi centers)

across the state. Organized under the direction of Minister of State for Basic

Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh, this program ensured a smooth,

enjoyable, and inspiring start to the educational lives of young children.

The

program was formally launched at the primary school in Ramchaura village of

Sarojininagar development block by Additional Chief Secretary for Basic and

Secondary Education, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, and Director General of School

Education, Monica Rani. An atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm prevailed in

the school campus, where young children embraced learning through play.

Additional

Chief Secretary Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma said that the age of 3 to 6 years is

the most important learning phase in a child's life. The objective of the

'Navarambh Utsav' is to connect every boy and girl to school from an early age,

so that they receive regular education and can progress smoothly to the next

classes. He said that the government's priority is to connect every child

between the ages of 3 and 18 to the mainstream of education. To attract

children to school, an interesting and activity-based learning environment is

being created, so that children themselves are motivated to come to school.

Director

General of School Education, Monica Rani, stated that through play-based

teaching, self-learning, and active learning methods, children's holistic

development, curiosity, and creativity are being strengthened from the early

stages. Self-learning and active learning are developing children's

self-confidence, decision-making, and creative thinking.

A major

highlight of the Navararambh celebration was the Sand Writing

activity, in which children aged 3 to 4 years old learned letters and numbers

through playful play. This innovative method made the learning process simple,

interesting, and enjoyable, fostering a natural interest in education among

children.

During the

program, gift hampers containing educational materials and useful items were

distributed to 58 children. The Additional Chief Secretary personally presented

gifts to the children, encouraging them. Textbook distribution for the new

academic session 2026-27 was also launched, with 25 children receiving

textbooks.

Through

this festival, special attention was paid to promoting the enrollment of

children aged 3 to 6 years and to making the admission of children who have

completed 6 years of age into Class 1 simple, easy, and attractive. The

holistic development of children is being ensured through a print-rich

environment, learning corners, and a variety of teaching materials in schools.

The program witnessed active participation from parents, public

representatives, and the local community, creating a positive environment for

child education. This initiative not only provided a strong start to children's

educational lives, but is also providing a new direction to coordination

between schools, parents, and the community.
