New Delhi, 24 March (H.S.):

The Delhi High Court directed platforms Tuesday to take down obscene defamatory and disparaging social media content against Patanjali Ayurved co-founder Acharya Balakrishna protecting his personality rights as Justice Tushar Rao Gedela reviewed a narrowed list of offending links.

The bench noted Monday that public figures must brace for criticism satire and caricatures but drew the line at material crossing into vulgarity or humiliation rejecting blanket takedowns while observing some links clearly infringed dignity.

Earlier Google counsel flagged Balkrishnas broad demands including Supreme Court critiques against Patanjali which his side clarified stayed exempt prompting the courts specific URL removal order.

This follows similar interim protections granted to figures like Baba Ramdev Kajol Vivek Oberoi Pawan Kalyan Sunil Gavaskar Salman Khan Ajay Devgn Jaya Bachchan Sudhir Chaudhary Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Nagarjuna Aishwarya Rai Abhishek Bachchan and Karan Johar barring unauthorized personality use.
