Guwahati, 23 March (HS): On the second day of Seemanta Kreeda Mahotsav ’26, held on Monday at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Sarusajai, Guwahati, the inspiring presence of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah (All-India General Secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale infused the entire atmosphere with patriotism, pride, and renewed enthusiasm.
Addressing nearly five hundred players from nine international border districts, along with over a hundred volunteers and distinguished attendees, he highlighted the vision and continuous efforts of Seemanta Chetana Manch Purvottar. He especially appreciated the organization’s significant role in strengthening national consciousness, cultural unity, and social harmony in border regions.
Speaking about the importance of the Seemanta Kreeda Mahotsav, he stated that the festival is not merely a sporting event but a movement of national awakening. It fosters values such as brotherhood, patriotism, discipline and dedication among the youth. He described the platform as a golden opportunity for talented players from border districts and expressed deep satisfaction at their participation.
Quoting Bhishma from the Mahabharata—“The borders of a nation are like a mother’s garment; protecting them is the foremost duty of her children”—he remarked that Seemanta Chetana Manch Purvottar has been putting this ideal into practice for many years.
He further said that those born and living in border areas are, in essence, God’s gift as protectors of the nation. Just as security forces officially guard the borders, border residents act as natural sentinels by virtue of their birth. Their courage, alertness and patriotism strengthen national security. Their lives reflect bravery, simplicity and deep love for the country. Despite numerous challenges, they stand firm in safeguarding the nation’s borders, inspiring all Indians.
In his brief yet impactful address, Hosabale emphasized that Seemanta Kreeda Mahotsav ’26 has emerged as a beacon of national integration, youth empowerment and development of border areas. It is not just a celebration of sports, but a grand festival representing India’s unity, diversity and indomitable spirit.
The event commenced with the Sarkaryavah offering floral tribute to Bharat Mata. Among those present were Reception Committee President and retired Air Vice Marshal Sanjib Bordoloi, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Member Ullas Kulkarni, President of Seemanta Chetana Manch Purvottar Dr. Pratima Neog and Assam State Committee President Bablu Kumar Roy. The program was conducted by General Secretary Dr. Binita Bhagawati.
A particularly memorable moment of the event was the group photograph taken with players from all districts and dedicated volunteers of the Seemanta Kreeda Mahotsav—symbolizing unity, pride and national integration.----------
