Guwahati, 22 March (H.S.). On the occasion of the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a youth conference for research scholars was organized on Sunday at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati campus, under the initiative of the RSS Guwahati Mahanagar unit. The event, held under the leadership of Guwahati Mahanagar Karyavah (Secretary) Dr. Dhirendra Das Panikay, commenced with the offering of floral tributes to the statue of 'Maa Bharati' (Mother India). Presiding as the chief guest, RSS Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale delivered a lecture highlighting the journey and ideals of the Sangh during its centenary year.

He stated that, since its very inception, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been striving to bring order and cohesion to the Indian people, who were historically fragmented. The Sangh is not merely an organization; it is a movement and an ideology. The Sangh operates by prioritizing the noble objective of nation-building through the process of individual character building. He reiterated that every citizen should contribute to the nation's development to the best of their ability. In his address, Hosabale remarked that we are all Sanatanis, and that the Sanatan tradition is simultaneously ever-new and eternally ancient. He emphasized that while we must modernize with the changing times, simply emulating the West does not constitute true modernity. The RSS works solely in the interest of the nation and society, striving to awaken a sense of national spirit within every individual.

Citing the words of Ram Manohar Lohia, he noted that just as Bhagwan Ram endeavored to unite North India and South India, Bhagwan Krishna similarly strove to bridge the East and West of India. He further added that the 'Shiv Tattva' (the essence of Shiv) has served to unify the entire land of Bharatvarsh. Drawing an example from the North-Eastern region, he recalled that during the Assam Movement, the Sangh played an active role in response to foreign interference in the region. He asserted that the time has now come to construct a narrative regarding Bharatvarsh—one that is grounded in truth and stands in support of the nation.

Following Dattatreya Hosabale's address, a question-and-answer session was conducted. More than three hundred young leaders—comprising research scholars and students from IIT Guwahati, National Law University Guwahati, AIIMS Guwahati, IIIT Guwahati, NIPER Guwahati and Gauhati University—participated in this youth gathering. The program concluded with the rendition of *Vande Mataram*. Dr. Umesh Chakraborty, *Sanghchalak* (Regional Chief) of the RSS Assam region, and Guru Prasad Medhi, *Sanghchalak* of the Guwahati Metropolitan region, were also present at the event. ---------------
