Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Saturday extending Eid and Nowruz greetings amid 22 days of West Asia military conflict hoping these festivals usher peace stability and prosperity to the region.
PMO statement said Modi expressed deep concern over recent strikes on critical infrastructure issuing strong condemnation noting such attacks threaten regional stability and disrupt global supply chains.
The Prime Minister reiterated importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation ensuring international shipping lanes remain open and secure while appreciating Irans ongoing cooperation protecting Indian nationals in the country.
This marks second telephonic conversation between leaders since Feb 28 conflict onset following March 12 call focused on regional security and stability.
