Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh), March 21 (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday directed officials to develop temples managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) into advanced spiritual centres by leveraging modern technology and improved devotee services.
During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the Artificial Intelligence-based Integrated Command and Control Centre located at the Vaikuntham Queue Complex in Tirumala.
Focus on devotee convenience
Naidu emphasized the need for systems that can proactively identify and immediately address difficulties faced by devotees. He said facilities provided to pilgrims—from entry into queue lines to darshan and exit—should be continuously monitored through the Command Control Centre to ensure smooth management.
Technology for temple security
To preserve the sanctity and security of Tirumala, the Chief Minister suggested the installation of advanced CCTV surveillance and facial recognition systems to prevent undesirable activities.
Officials informed him that such systems are already being implemented on a pilot basis.
Pollution control and expansion plans
Naidu also instructed authorities to take preventive measures against pollution in Tirumala and asked officials to prepare long-term action plans for the construction of more temples to promote spiritual activities.
Reviewing welfare initiatives, he noted that schemes such as Annadanam (free meal service) and Pranadanam (medical services) are being implemented effectively. He directed officials to further expand Pranadanam to strengthen healthcare support for devotees.
