Nagaon (Assam), 20 March (HS): BJP candidate from Raha constituency, Shashikant Das, on Friday claimed that the Congress party is rapidly declining, asserting that its offices are virtually shutting down due to lack of support.

Speaking to the media after filing his nomination paper at the Nagaon District Commissioner’s office, Das said that the BJP does not even consider Congress as a serious challenge in the upcoming elections.

He further alleged that following the departure of senior leader Pradyut Bordoloi towards the BJP, even self-respecting members of the Congress are finding it difficult to continue in the party and are opting to leave.

Das made these remarks shortly after completing his nomination process amid the presence of party supporters and leaders.----------
