Guwahati, 19 March (HS): Senior Assam BJP leader Bhupen Bora launched a sharp attack on opposition leaders, alleging that Congress President Gaurav Gogoi is set to sideline senior Congress figures within the party.

Bora claimed that Gogoi would soon move to marginalize opposition leader Debabrata Saikia as part of what he described as an effort to “drive the final nail into the Congress Coffin.” His remarks reflect escalating political tensions within Assam ahead of upcoming electoral developments. He was talking to media persons last night after a program in Bihpuria.

In a separate jibe, Bora also targeted Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi, drawing a controversial comparison with the mythological character Duryodhan. He remarked that Akhil Gogoi “does not need to strip further like Duryodhan,” in an apparent criticism of the latter’s political conduct.

The statements have added to the ongoing war of words between the ruling BJP and opposition leaders in the state, intensifying the political discourse in Assam.---------
