Guwahati, 19 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday paid heartfelt tribute to former Chief Minister Golap Borbora on his death anniversary, remembering him as a principled and dedicated leader whose life exemplified public service.

In a message, the Chief Minister described Borbora as a sincere political figure known for his simplicity, honesty, and firm commitment to ideals. He noted that Borbora’s political journey remains an inspiring example of selfless service to the people of Assam.

Sarma said that even during challenging times, Borbora never deviated from his principles and his contributions continue to live on in the memories of the people of the state. He added that the state government has undertaken extensive programmes to commemorate Borbora’s birth centenary, with the aim of carrying forward his legacy to future generations.

On the occasion of his Punyatithi, the Chief Minister offered his respectful tributes, honoring the enduring impact of the late leader’s contributions to Assam’s political and social landscape.---------
