Duplantis Shatters Pole Vault Record for 15th Time at Home

Uppsala, Sweden, 13 March (H.S.): Sweden's pole vault sensation Armand Duplantis scripted history yet again on Thursday, smashing the world record for the 15th time by clearing an astonishing 6.31 meters at the Mondo Classic in Uppsala.

The 26-year-old prodigy scaled the height on his first attempt, after effortlessly clearing 5.65m, 5.90m, and 6.08m earlier. He then boldly raised the bar by 23 centimeters to claim the new mark.

Duplantis has held the record since 6.17m in 2020, incrementally improving it each time—this marks his second Swedish soil triumph, following 6.28m in Stockholm last June 2025.

Emotional Triumph

Post-record, Duplantis told the crowd this home achievement felt profoundly special, vaulting for himself, his family, and Sweden's people.Norway's Sondre Guttormsen took silver at 6.00m, while Greece's Emmanuel Karalis failed all three attempts at that height.

Duplantis eyes further elevation at the World Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland, late March.
