New Delhi, 11 March (H.S.): Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Wednesday that a nationwide LPG shortage threatens unemployment for over one crore people, blaming supply disruptions from the Strait of Hormuz.

Addressing reporters at AAP headquarters, Kejriwal stated daily LPG availability has dropped nearly 50%, severely impacting hotels, restaurants, and industries. India meets about 60% of its LPG needs via imports, with 90% routed through the Strait of Hormuz—now virtually halted due to international tensions.

Excluding educational institutions and hospitals, all other commercial entities face complete LPG supply suspension, limited strictly to domestic use, leading to acute shortages across the country and risking mass job losses.

Blames PM's Israel VisitKejriwal questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to visit Israel just a day before the conflict erupted, accusing the move of plunging the nation into crisis.
