New Delhi, 11 March (H.S.): Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated the third edition of Bharat Tex 2026 at Udyog Bhawan on Wednesday, positioning it as the world's largest integrated textile event set for July 14-17 at Bharat Mandapam.
Singh told media that the initiative aims to give India's textile industry a fresh global identity and establish the country as the most reliable sourcing destination worldwide. He described Bharat Tex 2026 as a living embodiment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 5F vision—Farm, Fibre, Factory, Fashion, and Foreign—bringing the entire value chain from fibres and yarns to ready-made garments, technical textiles, and handicrafts under one roof.
Bharat Tex is not just a showcase of innovation and trade but also a symbol of India's growing leadership in the global textile economy, in line with the Make in India spirit, the minister stated.
This edition will set new benchmarks in size and impact across 1.6 lakh square metres, with 3,500 exhibitors displaying advanced technology and craftsmanship. Around 7,000 buyers from over 140 countries will explore India's market potential, alongside 1.3 lakh total visitors, making it the textile world's grandest congregation.
Textiles Secretary Neelam Shami Rao noted that the fair offers MSMEs and startups a golden chance to connect with global audiences. Despite adverse global conditions, India's textile sector has shown resilience, and new FTAs present an ideal time for international market diversification; Madhya Pradesh stands designated as the partner state.
Organized by the Bharat Textile Tradelink Federation (BTTTF) involving 11 export promotion councils, the event is poised to prove the quality, scale, and strength of Indian textiles, as affirmed by BTTTF President Naren Goenka and Co-Chair Bhadresh Dodiya.
