New Delhi, 10 March (H.S.): Haryana Steelers are expanding their grassroots development efforts through a burgeoning academy ecosystem aimed at identifying and nurturing young kabaddi talents across the state. The franchise has established dedicated training centers and forged partnerships with licensed academies statewide, creating structured pathways for emerging players. These facilities offer professional coaching, rigorous training regimens, and competitive environments tailored to foster long-term athletic growth.
By integrating their own academies with partner centers, Haryana Steelers provide a robust platform enabling gifted athletes from multiple districts to access top-tier instruction.
Strengthening this vision, the team announced the launch of the Haryana Steelers Cup (HS Cup), a statewide youth kabaddi tournament designed to deliver competitive exposure to Haryana's rising stars.
Haryana Steelers and JSW Sports CEO Divyanshu Singh remarked, Kabaddi is rooted in Haryana's culture. As a state franchise, we feel a profound responsibility to groom the next generation. Through our academies and partners, we're building a solid development framework for young athletes. The HS Cup aims to offer a stage where talents can compete and take their first steps toward professional kabaddi. Our goal extends beyond promoting the sport in Haryana—to contribute to kabaddi's future in India.
The tournament features a ₹5 lakh prize pool: ₹2 lakh for the winners, ₹1 lakh for runners-up. Zonal round top-four teams receive cash rewards, while 'Best Raider' and 'Best Defender' earn individual honors.
Tournament Schedule
Running March 21-29, 2026, the under-16-to-20 men's event kicks off with zonals in Rohtak, Hisar, and Sonipat. Finals will unfold at Brigadier Ran Singh Kabaddi Academy in Diggal.
