New Delhi, 10 March (H.S.): Preparations for Season 2 of the Global Pravasi Kabaddi League (GPKL) have gained momentum, with scouting trials underway across India's key kabaddi hubs to unearth promising athletes. The talent search aims to assemble a formidable player pool for both men's and women's divisions ahead of the central draft.

Organizers revealed that evaluations will gauge technical prowess, physical fitness, strategic insight, and match temperament. Selected players will feed into a centralized draft pool, where franchises craft balanced squads blending domestic powerhouses with international flair—per pre-set draft structures for both genders.

Karthik Dammu, overseeing the draft process for GPKL Season 2, underscored the mission to forge a competitive talent reservoir. Scouting is rolling out via top academies in traditional strongholds, he stated. With structures locked for men's and women's teams, our focus is equilibrium: fusing homegrown strength with rising global stars.

This framework sustains competitive parity while advancing kabaddi's professional integration in emerging nations. Season 2 will host parallel men's and women's tournaments, each franchise fielding two teams under its banner—a nod to gender equity and global expansion, drawing players from Europe, Africa, and Asia.
