New Delhi, 01 March (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi affirmed on Sunday that the central government remains steadfast in ensuring respect and justice for the Sikh community.Addressing the 350th Shaheedi Samagam of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji in Navi Mumbai via video message, Modi opened with Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal, honouring the Hind di Chadar on his martyrdom anniversary.He described India's history as one of valour, harmony, and collaboration, with Maharashtra's soil witnessing this legacy.

Every community draws inspiration from Guru Ji to stand firm for truth and culture.PM Modi highlighted national celebrations of Sikh heritage: 400th Prakash Purb, commemorative stamps/coins, Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th Prakash Purb. Initiatives include Veer Baal Diwas, rapid Kartarpur Sahib Corridor completion, Hemkunt Sahib enhancements, and relief for Sikh institutions.

He cited 1984 riots probes via SIT, case reopenings, extra compensation for victims, and National Minorities Commission activation. For Afghan Sikhs' safety, the government acted decisively, repatriated Guru Granth Sahib copies honourably, and offered persecuted refugees relief via Citizenship Amendment Act.

PM Modi noted the samagam's journey—from Nagpur last year, Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, now Navi Mumbai—congratulating Maharashtra for spreading its message to thousands of villages.
