
Guwahati, 01 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday informed that 21 illegal infiltraters were pushed back to Bangladesh during an operation carried out by Sribhumi Police.
Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister said the operation was conducted at around 12:30 am today. He credited the district police for their vigilance, stating that the individuals were apprehended, properly documented and subsequently sent back.
In his post, Sarma wrote, “Alert eyes. Midnight action. At exactly 12:30 am, 21 illegal immigrants were pushed back to their respective country.” He lauded the police personnel for remaining alert through the night and ensuring the successful execution of the operation.
Officials informed that the drive was part of the ongoing efforts to detect and deport illegal immigrants from the state.---------------
