Work has begun under the Pathashree project to strengthen the road infrastructure in the city. During a press conference held at Serampore Municipality on Saturday, Chairman Giridhari Saha provided detailed information about this ambitious project.
The Chairman said that in the first phase, a total of 28 kilometers of road construction has been sanctioned. Work will be carried out on 85 roads in this phase, for which the tender process has been completed. A total of Rs. 29,88,35,012 has been sanctioned for the first phase.
He further informed that a proposal for the construction of an additional 10 roads, with a total length of approximately six kilometers, has been submitted for the second phase. An amount of Rs. 5,81,43,212 has been proposed for this phase.
In addition, a proposal for the construction of approximately six kilometers of roads has also been prepared and submitted for the third phase. All work under the Pathashree project is being carried out under the supervision of KMDA (Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority) to ensure quality and timely completion.
Chairman Giridhari Saha was accompanied at the press conference by CIC Santosh alias Pappu Singh, Tiyasha Mukherjee, and other municipal councillors. The municipal administration claimed that the completion of these projects will significantly improve road connectivity and traffic management in various areas of Serampore.
