Chennai, 07 February (H.S.) : The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK President, MK Stalin, has officially set a target for his party and its allies to secure victory in at least 200 out of the 234 constituencies in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.

Addressing a massive gathering of party cadres and district secretaries, the Chief Minister emphasized that the Dravidian Model of governance has successfully reached every household in the state. He urged the party workers to begin their field work immediately, focusing on highlighting the welfare schemes implemented by the state government over the last five years.

The Chief Minister noted that the opposition remains fragmented and lacks a cohesive vision for the development of Tamil Nadu. He asserted that the DMK's strength lies in its grassroots connectivity and the satisfaction of the public with various social security measures.

During the meeting, he specifically mentioned the success of schemes like the Magalir Urimai Thogai and the free bus travel for women, which have significantly empowered the citizens. He cautioned the cadres against complacency and instructed them to counter any misinformation spread by political rivals with factual data regarding the state's progress.

In an official statement issued following the strategy meeting, CM MK Stalin remarked that the goal of 200 seats is not just a number but a testament to the trust people place in the DMK. He further clarified that the alliance remains strong and united in its mission to protect the state's autonomy and linguistic identity.

The Chief Minister also directed the ministers to ensure that all ongoing infrastructure projects are completed on schedule to maintain the momentum of development ahead of the polls.
