Karbi Anglong, 07 February (HS): The Assam government has directed the immediate expulsion of three Bangladeshi nationals illegally residing in Karbi Anglong district, following orders passed by the Foreigners Tribunal, officials confirmed on Saturday.

Acting under Section 2 of the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950, the district administration issued the deportation directive after the Foreigners Tribunal, through separate rulings in December, declared the three individuals as illegal immigrants.

The expulsion orders, signed by the District Commissioner, were served on Saturday, instructing the foreigners to leave the country within 24 hours of receiving the notice.

Those ordered to be expelled have been identified as Md Fakruddin of the Bokajan police station area, along with Md Rafiqul Ali and Md Faizul Haque, both residents of the Manja police station area in Karbi Anglong.

The official orders stated that their continued stay in the district was considered prejudicial to public interest and posed a threat to the internal security of the state. The individuals have been directed to exit Assam and India through designated routes via Dhubri, Sribhumi or South Salmara–Mankachar within the stipulated timeframe.

Authorities cautioned that failure to comply with the expulsion orders would compel the government to take further legal steps to forcibly remove them from the state and the country.
