Guwahati, 06 February (HS): The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express operating between Kamakhya and Howrah has been receiving overwhelming appreciation from passengers, with consistent 100% punctuality and zero complaints recorded on the Rail Madad platform in recent days.
Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, the train marks a significant milestone in the modernisation of Indian Railways’ long-distance services. Passengers have expressed high satisfaction with the train’s modern design, smooth ride, enhanced safety features and improved sleeper-class comfort, describing the journey as pleasant and memorable.
Travellers have particularly praised the premium bed roll introduced on the service, featuring hygienic and aesthetically designed Sanganeri-print blanket covers. Cleanliness, including that of vestibule toilets, has also drawn positive feedback, while systematic training of onboard hospitality staff has contributed to courteous and efficient passenger service.
Although a few catering-related complaints were reported during the initial days of operation, officials said prompt corrective measures were taken, following which no further grievances have been received. Passengers have since appreciated the improved quality and taste of food served onboard.
Railway authorities said the strong passenger response reflects the Government of India’s vision of providing faster, safer and more comfortable rail travel. With growing popularity and sustained positive feedback, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express on the Kamakhya–Howrah route is emerging as a symbol of innovation and excellence in long-distance rail travel.----------
