Chennai, 05 February (H.S.) : The Regional Meteorological Centre, RMC, has predicted a gradual increase in maximum temperatures across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal until February 9. According to the latest weather bulletin, the state is expected to experience a rise in mercury levels as dry weather conditions prevail over most parts of the region.
This atmospheric change is primarily attributed to lower-level cyclonic circulations and shifts in wind patterns. While most of the state remains dry, the RMC has noted that light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in the south coastal districts of Tamil Nadu due to a prevailing cyclonic circulation over north Kerala and adjoining areas.
In the capital city of Chennai and its suburban regions, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy for the next few days. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to hover around 30 to 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will stay between 21 and 22 degrees Celsius. Meteorological officials have also warned of mist or haze during the early morning hours in isolated pockets of the state.
Despite the minor rainfall possibilities in the south, the overall trend points toward a warming phase across the interior and coastal districts. Residents have been advised to stay updated with the RMC forecasts as the dry spell continues.
This weather update comes as the state transitions further into the post-monsoon phase, with officials monitoring the temperature fluctuations closely.
