New Delhi, 26 February (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to legendary revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his death anniversary, drawing timeless inspiration from the freedom fighter's unyielding spirit.
In an X post,PM Modi extolled Savarkar as Mother India's tireless son, whose life exemplifies steadfast resolve amid dire straits: Savarkar's courage, restraint, and devotion to the motherland shall forever guide countrymen. He invoked a Sanskrit shloka—Dhīrāḥ śokaṃ tariṣyanti labhante siddhimuttamām | Dhīraiḥ samprāpyate lakṣmīrdhairyaṃ sarvatra sādhnam ||—translating to: The steadfast surmount sorrows, attaining supreme success; through patience comes prosperity—patience, the universal tool of triumph.
PM Modi hailed Savarkar's lifelong sacrifice to unshackle India from colonial chains, affirming his legacy will inspire generations in national service. Savarkar (1883-1966), architect of Hindutva and Abhinav Bharat founder, died via prayopavesa on this day.
