Jammu, 26 February (H.S.): As part of nationwide demonstrations before the offices of DCs/SDMs, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) J&K here today staged a protest demonstration at Jammu, Kathua, Billawar, Reasi, Nowshera, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar.

The protesters raised slogans in favour of their demands and submitted a memorandum to the CM for State level demands and also to the PM and Union Labour Minister regarding Labour Codes.

Addressing the protesters, Harbans Choudhary, senior BMS leader said the Central government should implement Universal Enforcement of Labour Laws for all the sectors and all sections of workers without exception.

Other demands raised by him were rectification of workers concerns in two labour codes—Industrial Relation Code 2020 and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code 2020, revival and strengthening of tripartite mechanism, immediate convening of the Indian Labour Conference, increasing of the threshold limit for coverage under ESI and EPF.

Neelam Sharma, general secretary, Ashok Choudhary, Ravi Hans, president Daily Wagers Workers Union, Rinku Gill, president Municipal Workers Union and others also spoke on the occasion.
