
Mumbai, 25 Feb (HS): The Enforcement Directorate
(ED) has attached 17-store residence ‘Abode’ in Mumbai in connection with the
alleged bank loan fraud and money laundering, involving his company Reliance
Communication. Abode is estimated to be worth Rs 3,716.83 crore.
A provisional attachment order has been issued on
Wednesday under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The value of the
luxurious property in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area has risen to around 15,700 crore
after this action under the PMLA.
The attachment is a part of an investigation into
the financial irregularities and diversion of loan money by Reliance
Communications RCOM. Two FIRs have been registered by the Central Bureau of
Investigation related to cheating, bribery and diversion of public funds with Reliance
Anil Ambani Group (RAAGA) companies. Search operations have been carried out at
more than 35 premises linked to companies and their executives in Mumbai and
Delhi.
