
Chennai, 24 February (H.S.) : Southern Railway has officially announced the operation of special train services between Kanpur and Madurai to manage the significant surge in passenger traffic expected during the upcoming Holi festival.
This strategic move aims to provide a comfortable travel experience for commuters traveling between Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. According to an official press release from the railway authority, advance reservations for these specific services were scheduled to commence today, February 24, starting from 2 pm.
As per the detailed schedule provided by the authorities, Train Number 01927 will depart from Kanpur Central at 8:10 am on five consecutive Wednesdays, specifically on February 25, and March 4, 11, 18, and 25.
The train is slated to reach Madurai at 7:15 am on the third day of its journey. This long-distance service is expected to benefit hundreds of devotees and travelers planning their festive trips well in advance.
In the return direction, Train Number 01928 will operate from Madurai to Kanpur. This service is scheduled to depart from Madurai at 11:35 pm on five Fridays, including February 27, and March 6, 13, 20, and 27.
The train will conclude its journey in Kanpur at 4:30 am on the fourth day. Railway officials have urged passengers to utilize the official reservation counters or the online booking portal to secure their tickets, as high demand is anticipated during this peak festive season.
