Kolkata, 22 February (H.S.): The West Bengal BJP on Sunday shared a list related to the South Dinajpur district Medical Officer (Blood Service) recruitment list on social media, levelling serious allegations against the state government. The BJP claimed that the list is from West Bengal and that irregularities have allegedly been committed in the name of reservation policy.
According to the document verification process held on February 23, 2026, at the old CMOH office building in Balurghat. The list includes the names of 18 candidates, all of whom are listed in the 'General' category.
The BJP has alleged that Muslim candidates belonging to the OBC category are being appointed to jobs allegedly reserved for Hindu candidates by availing them of reservation benefits based on social and educational backwardness. The party cited this as an example of misuse of the reservation system.
The BJP's social media post stated that this issue is not limited to a single district, but raises serious questions about the transparency and fairness of the recruitment process in the state. The party has demanded that the state government investigate the entire recruitment process.
However, as of the time of filing of the news, no official response had been issued by the state government or the health department on this matter. The administration also issued no statement regarding the veracity of the list or the BJP's allegations.
