New Delhi, 21 February (H.S.): Vice President CP Radhakrishnan emphasized on Saturday that robust coordination among government, industry, and society is indispensable for India's holistic transformation and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Addressing a media group event at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday, the Vice President highlighted this partnership's heightened importance amid India's developmental journey. He noted India's ascent from the world's tenth to fourth-largest economy—poised for third place—driven by structural reforms, inclusive growth, digital connectivity, financial inclusion, and infrastructure expansion that lifted over 250 million citizens from extreme poverty while igniting nationwide aspirations.
Radhakrishnan stressed the need for deeper collaboration in development's next phase, positioning Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not as peripheral but as a core pillar where enterprise meets empathy. Citing Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047 visions, he advocated broad-based, inclusive, and sustainable growth, with CSR strengthening public education, enhancing primary healthcare in remote areas, promoting industry-aligned skill development, supporting women-led enterprises, and accelerating green transitions via renewables and climate-adaptive initiatives.
CSR transcends legal compliance, symbolizing commitment to the nation, complemented by reforms like Ease of Doing Business, digital governance, and GST that foster transparency and trust. Yet, he clarified that policies alone cannot remake a nation—true change arises when government, industry, and society advance unitedly. On responsible capitalism, he advocated aligning profit with purpose, innovation with inclusion, and growth with sustainability.
Urging media organizations to amplify positive development stories, the Vice President underscored placing citizens at democracy's core to bolster faith in institutions. He referenced One Nation, One Election as enabling long-term policy stability.
