Barpeta (Assam), 20 February (HS): In a sensational incident, unidentified miscreants carried out a daring daylight robbery at a jewellery showroom in Barpeta Road on Friday, looting ornaments and cash worth approximately ₹12 crore.

According to reports, the armed robbers targeted a showroom of Senco Gold. The accused, who were wearing masks and conversing in Hindi, first disconnected the CCTV cameras before executing the heist. They allegedly tied up the staff members and threatened them at gunpoint before decamping with large quantities of gold and silver jewellery along with cash.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and launched an investigation. A massive search operation has been initiated, and naka checking has been intensified across the area to trace and apprehend the culprits.-----------
