Lucknow,
16 Feb (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned opposition
members' conduct during Governor Anandiben Patel's presentation at the
commencement of the Budget Session, which is underway on Monday, saying it
undermined democratic norms and disregarded constitutional authority. Speaking
at the Legislative Council in response to the discussion on the Governor's
address, Adityanath stated that 51 members of diverse parties had enhanced the
debate with useful comments while maintaining the debate's decorum and seriousness.
He praised them for their participation. The Governor's speech is a document
summarizing the government's successes and future action plans that is
constitutionally given by the Governor in the Assembly and by the President in
Parliament each year, according to Adityanath.
He
stated that the Governor, as the state's constitutional leader, needs to be
respected by all members. Referring to the opposition's behavior during the
address, notably that of the Samajwadi Party, he claimed that it not only
disregarded a constitutional office but also amounted to an insult to a woman
occupying a prominent position. He stated that it is our collective obligation
to respect national symbols, constitutional arrangements, and the dignity of
constitutional offices, as well as refrain from engaging in conduct that sends
the incorrect message to future generations. Adityanath stated that expecting
more from such an opposition would be ridiculous, and that the episode showed
the Samajwadi Party's pessimistic mindset.
He
described the attitude as an affront to women's dignity, particularly against
the seasoned leader who is presently serving as Governor. The chief minister
highlighted the substance of the Governor's message, saying it mirrored the
state government's achievements over the last eight to nine years. He said that
Uttar Pradesh has moved from crime and chaos to discipline, curfew to the rule
of law, turmoil to jubilation, and problems to remedies. He stated that the
voyage also signaled a shift from suspicion to self-confidence, and that both
the country and the globe now recognize the change in Uttar Pradesh. Adityanath
said that previous governments, motivated by narrow goals, jeopardized the state's
future and denied its 25 crore people their proper opportunity, driving the
state into anarchy and instability.
