16 Feb (HS): A five-day residential training program for selected Krishi
Sakhis, under the National Mission on Natural Farming scheme, run by the
Agriculture Department, concluded successfully today at the Krishi Vigyan
Kendra, Prayagraj-1. This training program was organized from 12-2-2026 to
16-2-2026, in which dozens of Krishi Sakhis from Blocks Jasra and Bhagwatpur
participated enthusiastically.
The
program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Mukesh P. Masih (In-charge of the
Krishi Vigyan Kendra). During the training, participants were provided with
detailed information on the basic concepts of natural farming, including
Jeevamrit, Ghan Jeevamrit, Beej Amrit, mulching, intercropping, and natural
pest and disease management techniques. Experts also conducted on-field
demonstrations, giving farmers an opportunity to understand the techniques in
practice.
In
the closing session, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ritu Dubey, Vice Chancellor, SHUATS
Prayagraj, stated that natural farming not only improves soil fertility but
also helps increase farmers' income by reducing production costs. She appealed
to farmers to reduce their dependence on chemical farming and adopt natural
farming, which would also benefit environmental protection and human health.
Mohammad
Shakib, representative of the Deputy Director of Agriculture, stated that the
purpose of this training is to inspire farmers to adopt self-reliant and
sustainable agricultural practices. While distributing certificates to all
participants, he promised to organize similar programs in the future. In the
end, the participants shared their experiences and said that this training was
very useful and informative, which gave them inspiration and confidence to
adopt natural farming.
