
Tamulpur (Assam), 16 February (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday distributed financial assistance to 4,768 beneficiaries from Tamulpur, Baksa and Udalguri districts under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan (CMAAA 2.0). The initiative aims to empower youths and promote self-employment across the state.
Under the scheme, a group of selected beneficiaries received ₹5 lakh each, while others were provided ₹2 lakh each to help them establish and expand their ventures. The financial support is expected to further strengthen Assam’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and create sustainable livelihood opportunities at the grassroots level.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sarma said the primary objective of the initiative is to encourage entrepreneurship and provide necessary financial backing to young aspirants so that they can become self-reliant and contribute to the state’s economy.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated four RCC bridges constructed over the Matanga and Balti rivers under the Tamulpur Assembly constituency. The newly built bridges are expected to significantly improve regional connectivity and accelerate development in the area.
Officials stated that the infrastructure projects would ease transportation challenges and enhance access to markets, healthcare facilities and educational institutions for local residents. The Chief Minister has been distributing financial assistance to selected youths in every Assembly constituency of the state under the CMAAA 2.0 scheme.
