Berkeley, California, 15 February (H.S.): Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a 22-year-old master's student from Karnataka(India) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, was discovered deceased on February 14, 2026, six days after vanishing on February 9 near campus environs.

Desperate Community Hunt Ends Tragically

Local police recovered Sreenivasaiah's body following an exhaustive search encompassing Lake Anza, Berkeley Hills, and Tilden Regional Park vicinity, where his backpack—housing passport and laptop—was located adjacent to a residence approximately one kilometer from UC Berkeley.

The 6'1, 160-pound IIT Madras alumnus and Sri Vani Education Centre (Bengaluru) graduate, distinguished by short black hair and brown eyes, elicited fervent community mobilization via Reddit amid the fervent quest.

Brilliance Cut Short and Consular Aid

Co-inventor of a patented microchannel cooling system for hyperloop, Sreenivasaiah embodied quick wit, humility, brilliance, and loyalty per peers; India's San Francisco Consulate extended profound condolences, pledging swift repatriation assistance while underscoring student safety advisories and pre-orientation briefings abroad.
