
Manas National Park (Assam), 14 February (HS): Three forest guards were injured, one of them critically, after a wild buffalo attacked them during routine duty inside Manas National Park, officials said.
According to forest department sources, the incident occurred when the guards were on patrol in a sensitive zone of the park. The wild buffalo suddenly charged at the team, leaving three personnel seriously injured before others managed to drive the animal away.
The injured guards were immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment. One of them is reported to be in critical condition, while the other two are stated to be stable.
Senior forest officials have taken stock of the situation and directed increased vigilance in the area. An inquiry into the circumstances leading to the attack is also underway.----------
