
Guwahati, 14 February (HS): A new chapter in Assam’s development journey began with the inauguration of the Northeast’s first advanced Emergency Landing Facility at Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh district by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other dignitaries. Built at a cost of around ₹100 crore, the facility will strengthen both strategic preparedness and regional connectivity.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu over the Brahmaputra, the National Data Centre at Amingaon, the temporary campus of Indian Institute of Management Guwahati, and flagged off 100 electric buses under the PM e-Bus service, marking significant progress in connectivity, education and transport sectors.
Assam Gana Parishad president Atul Bora and working president Keshab Mahanta expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, stating that the projects would play a vital role in the state’s socio-economic growth.------------
