Bhubaneswar, 11 February (H.S.): On Wednesday, Odisha Vigilance conducted simultaneous searches at five locations in connection with an alleged misappropriation of ₹2.38 crore in government funds by a staff member of the Angul District Headquarters Hospital.

According to vigilance officials, the action is part of an investigation linked to Cuttack Vigilance Police Station Case No. 06/2026, which has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Sri Subrat Kumar Behera, a Junior Assistant in the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) in Angul.

Vigilance sources indicated that the searches are being led by five Deputy Superintendents of Police, with assistance from eight Inspectors, 14 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other supporting staff. The raids are currently taking place at various locations, including Behera's three-story residential building in Hakimpada, his relative's house in Bonda village (under Nalco Nagar police limits), his paternal home in Baunsapokhari (Hindol area of Dhenkanal district), a rented residence of his cousin at Shree Vihar in Bhubaneswar, and his office room at the CDMO office in Angul. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
