New Delhi, 09 January (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the Congress on Friday, branding the Gandhi-Vadra family as the very embodiment of corruption and loot in contemporary India.

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, addressing a press conference at party headquarters, asserted that any discourse on graft immediately evokes this single dynasty in public consciousness.Bhandari highlighted that both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi remain out on bail amid ongoing probes. He recalled that the National Herald newspaper ceased circulation in 2008, yet Congress governments continue funneling taxpayer money to revive and advertise in this defunct personal organ of the family.

Karnataka's Congress regime is squandering public funds on advertisements for Rahul and Sonia's shuttered newspaper, while Bengaluru's pothole-ridden roads languish for lack of resources, he charged.

This malfeasance extends beyond Karnataka, Bhandari emphasized. Himachal Pradesh's cash-strapped Congress government—having borrowed ₹350 crore recently, burdened by ₹7,200 crore debt, and struggling to pay employee salaries—has allocated up to ₹97 lakh to the National Herald.

Rahul Gandhi's model is clear: loot taxpayer money, channel it through a closed private newspaper to fund the Rahul-Sonia lifestyle, and perpetrate injustice on the populace, he alleged.

The BJP's salvo underscores escalating political rhetoric ahead of key electoral battles, positioning the National Herald saga—long under Enforcement Directorate scrutiny—as a flashpoint in the corruption narrative against the opposition's first family.
