
Kolkata, 09 January (H.S.): Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilisers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, on Friday inaugurated several advanced medical facilities at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalyani, strengthening tertiary healthcare services in West Bengal.
The newly inaugurated facilities include the Radiation Oncology Department, the Trauma and Emergency Medicine Department, and a modern Pneumatic Tube System aimed at enhancing hospital efficiency and expediting patient care. Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region Sukanta Majumdar and Ranaghat Member of Parliament Jagannath Sarkar were also present on the occasion.
During his visit, Nadda held an administrative review meeting with senior officials and faculty members to assess the institute’s progress. He later inspected the Outpatient and Inpatient Departments and interacted directly with patients to review the quality of healthcare services being delivered.
The Union Minister also engaged with medical students, doctors, nursing staff, and other healthcare workers. He reviewed academic training, clinical practices, and institutional functioning, and took note of the requirements and concerns raised by doctors and faculty members.
