NewDelhi, 08 January (H.S.):

Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta announced on Thursday an extension of the winter session by one additional day, postponing proceedings until Friday to address pending legislative business disrupted by opposition disruptions over the past two days.

Legislative Affairs Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh informed the house that critical agenda items remained stalled, urging passage of the Lieutenant Governor's address motion and a discussion on pollution. He also requested referring a privilege case concerning alleged remarks on Sikh Gurus to the Privileges Committee for time-bound inquiry.

Speaker Gupta responded gravely: Mindful of the seriousness of the alleged remarks against Sikh Gurus and the dignity of this House, I refer the entire matter to the Privileges Committee for investigation and reporting.

Additionally, the video recording of Leader of Opposition Atishi's statement has been dispatched to a forensic laboratory for examination.Proceedings then adjourned until Friday morning at 11 AM.
