
Bhubaneswar, 08 January (H.S.): Representatives of Utsahi Palm Oil Company paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and expressed keen interest in promoting palm oil cultivation and establishing an oil extraction unit in Odisha.
During the meeting, the company conveyed its willingness to invest in palm oil farming as well as set up a processing and oil extraction unit in the State. The representatives also sought the necessary support and facilitation from the Odisha government for the establishment of the proposed unit.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured them of the State government’s support in line with its policies aimed at boosting agricultural diversification, value addition and farmer income.
Senior officials present at the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhi, and Director of Horticulture, Shri Kalunge Gorakh Waman, among others.
