NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar issued a strongly worded condemnation, writing to the state's Director General of Police demanding action against the accused officers, immediate medical assistance, rehabilitation, and compensation for the victim.

She described the incident as a grave violation of the woman's dignity, personal liberty, and right to protection from gender-based violence.Rahatkar directed that if no FIR has been registered yet, one must be filed immediately, followed by a fair, transparent, and time-bound investigation including forensic analysis of video evidence.
