Bomb Threats to Odisha Courts: CM Majhi Orders Probe, Convenes High-Level Review Meeting


Bhubaneswar, 08 January (H.S.): Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed serious concern over reports of bomb threats received at district courts in Sambalpur, Cuttack and Deogarh, and ordered a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the authenticity of the threats and identify those responsible.

According to official sources, the bomb threats were received at the district courts of the three districts around Thursday noon. Immediately after being informed, the Chief Minister directed senior officials to probe the incidents and take all necessary steps to ensure public safety.

The Chief Minister held discussions with Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma and Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, instructing them to maintain strict vigil and closely monitor the situation.

Emphasising that there can be no compromise on the safety and security of citizens’ lives and property, CM Majhi directed the authorities to treat the matter with utmost seriousness. Senior officers have been deployed to oversee security arrangements and coordinate response measures on the ground.

Meanwhile, another high-level meeting is scheduled later in the evening, during which the Chief Minister will conduct a detailed review of the situation and assess further course of action.
