New Delhi, 06 January (H.S.): An 18-year-old man was killed and another seriously injured following a stabbing incident in the Welcome area of northeast Delhi late Monday night, police confirmed on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Arman (18), a resident of Welcome, while the injured, Altaf Ali (18), is currently undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital and his condition is described as stable.

Police received a PCR call regarding the incident late on Monday and rushed a team to the scene, where both youths were found lying injured with stab wounds. Arman was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Altaf was admitted for further care.

The initial inquiry suggests that the stabbing occurred after a dispute, though the exact sequence of events leading to the crime is yet to be fully ascertained.

Investigation Underway

A senior police officer stated that statements of witnesses present at the scene are being recorded to establish the circumstances of the crime. A case has been registered at the Welcome police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the crime team along with forensic experts have conducted a detailed inspection at the site, collecting crucial evidence such as blood samples and other material clues.

Multiple police teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the accused involved in the incident.

CCTV Footage and Ongoing Efforts

CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being scanned to trace the movements of the suspects before and after the crime. Police are also investigating whether the accused and victims knew each other, and whether any previous enmity existed between them.
