Jammu, 29 January (H.S.): BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul today said that the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) is a landmark initiative aimed at employment generation, rural empowerment, and inclusive development.
Addressing a VB-G RAM G workshop at the BJP office in Kupwara, followed by an organisational meeting with the district team, Koul urged party leaders and workers to actively convey the benefits of the initiative to the people.
He stressed that the outreach should focus particularly on rural and far-flung areas so that maximum citizens can avail themselves of schemes designed to strengthen village economies and create sustainable livelihoods. Koul emphasised that party leaders must stand firmly with the people during the ongoing harsh winter, especially as heavy snowfall has disrupted normal life and led to road closures.
He called for timely assistance, effective coordination with the administration, and strong on-ground support to ensure essential relief reaches affected areas without delay.
Highlighting the proactive role of the Narendra Modi-led Government, Koul referred to the Rs 1,430-crore relief and compensation provided to people who suffered losses during last year’s flash floods, stating that the Centre has shown deep sensitivity towards the hardships faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He added that concrete steps have been taken towards financial assistance, rehabilitation, and long-term safeguards to mitigate the impact of natural calamities.
The programme was attended by BJP General Secretary Anwar Khan, BJP Secretary Mudasir Wani, District President Kupwara Syed Mohd Rafiq Shah, and other senior party leaders and office bearers.
